RDLC Program School Improvement Plan 2024-2025

Mission Statement

Our vision for the Dr. Rick DeCristofaro Learning Center (RDLC) is to create an atmosphere that promotes personal independence and enables students to become active members in their community.  Our goal is to provide evidence-based instruction designed to address students’ communication, social skills, academic abilities, and social-emotional needs in a school that is located within their own community.

Message From Principal Kerri Connolly

The RDLC strives to give each student the skills necessary in order to increase their independence in all areas of their academic, social and personal lives. The RDLC staff work collaboratively in order to utilize the appropriate techniques to increase student engagement and learning.  We want to give our students a learning environment where they can feel successful, safe, and supported.

At the RDLC, we utilize a total communication approach to support all student communication, such as oral, visual, sign language, gestures, and/or speech-generated devices.  Our students' growth is not just based on academic achievement but also on their progress toward daily living skills, communication, fine/gross motor skills, and social behavior.

Every student is an individual learner, and we support the big and small achievements our students make throughout the year.  We look forward to the growth of the RDLC program and the achievements our students will make in the years to come.
